Rick Wagner

In the 1960s, Rick overcame injuries from a fireworks accident. He was burned over 45% of his body, leaving physical and emotional hurdles.

In the 1970s, he held down a full-time job while going to night school to learn mainframe computer operations.

In the 1980s, Rick observed that he was gay. It came as a surprise both to him and his wife. She was ready to move on anyway. He was left with learning what to do when you're gay. He met Wynn in the 1980s, but nothing became of it for 15 more years.

In the 1990s, Rick found Wynn's e-mail address (despite Wynn's best efforts to stay hidden from almost everyone). They restarted their friendship. Rick packed up and moved halfway across the country to be with Wynn. They drove Rick's "U-Haul" truck across the city limits of Dallas at 6:38pm on Christmas Eve in 1995. Wynn sent a thank you note to Rick's mother.

In the new millennium, he became heavily involved in pagan and Egyptian studies, spiritual teaching, and surviving an ugly motorcycle accident by (here we go again) a 19 year-old drunk driver. Scarred from a major burn as a kid, Rick now survived a traumatic brain injury. Wynn sent a note to Rick's mother claiming that Rick was still under warranty at the time of the accident and that Wynn still had the receipt and wanted a refund or exchange. His mother hung up.

He and Wynn handfasted in a double-ring ceremony (guiche) on December 17, 1999 and experienced a great bonding and true love. Rick changed his last name to "Wagner."
